Check Trainium model support before provisioning a machine
The support catalog includes software versions and reproduction scripts. Missing entries and passing results both require careful interpretation.
Checking support before provisioning a machine answers an immediate deployment question. David Corvoysier's October 23, 2026 article introduces a catalog of model execution results for torch-neuronx on AWS Trainium.
Entries include compiler and Transformers versions, device memory, and elapsed time with compilation included. The catalog also supplies the environment and script needed for reproduction. My verdict: that evidence is more useful for investigating compatibility than a passing badge alone.
The badge still has a narrow meaning. Tests generate 32 tokens. A single-core run compares output tokens against a CPU reference; a sharded run uses a model judge to assess English fluency. Neither procedure establishes sustained performance for an application producing long responses.
An absent model is not automatically incompatible, either. Popularity guides selection, so a missing entry may simply mean testing has not reached it.
This is useful for teams considering Trainium and looking for a reproducible starting configuration. Its decisive restriction is scope: the catalog checks a short execution, rather than sizing a production workload.
